Asset Report
Bowen and Surat basins CBM unconventional play
Report summary
Australia's Bowen and Surat basins hold some of the best coalbed methane resources in the world with thick, gassy, high permeability coals found at the Fairview and Spring Gully fields, and around the Undulla Nose. There are also less permeable areas, that have been developed using specialised drilling and completion techniques such as surface to in-seam (SIS) drilling. The bulk of the basins' CBM reserves will be produced for the Pacific Basin LNG market via three greenfield LNG projects.
